Beautiful Mornings Deserve Strong Coffee!

Quote of the Day:

“Nothing is more beautiful than the loveliness of the woods before sunrise” -George Washington Carver

...It's pretty amazing how one day it can be so cold, rainy, icy, and just a simple day that should be focused on relaxing, cuddling, and schnuggling and then the next morning is absolutely Beautiful! The sunrise - amazing with its bright pinks and oranges, and the roads all clear of any ice worry. :) Enjoy these beautiful mornings!!

Nessa's Beauty Tip of the Day:
Coffee. One cup. Not much sugar or fattening creams. But coffee. It is good for the mind, body, and soul.
  1. Cancer... "Coffee is a widely consumed beverage worldwide and a growing body of scientific research indicates that coffee consumption does not have a harmful effect in relation to risk of cancer and there is substantial research pointing to its favorable influence on risk of some cancers."
  2. Exercise... "Research shows that caffeine is an ergogenic aid and helps to improve muscular work capacity in most if not all exercises."
  3. Hydration... "A moderate intake of coffee and other caffeinated drinks does not lead to dehydration and may count towards our daily fluid intake."
  4. Safe driving... "Much research has been undertaken to find out the best way of alleviating sleepiness among drivers. Some laboratory studies show that moderate amounts of caffeine, 100-200 mg (approximately one or two regular sized cups of coffee), significantly improved alertness in sleepy subjects."
So, don't be afraid that caffeine in coffee will harm you... in many ways, it will actually aid you. And one last thing that a wise woman once told me: "Lattes and cappuccinos may taste more yummy than regular coffee and even though lattes have espresso in them, an actual cup of coffee has more caffeine in it than a latte." So, don't be fulled. If you want that healthy drink that will boost you up for your day as well as give you added benefits - drink one cup of coffee a day. :)

Much love, Nessa xoxo

Forget those PORES! & bring on that beautiful face! :)

Quote of the Day:
"Our bodies are our gardens - our wills are our gardeners." -William Shakespeare

Ness's Beauty Tip of the Day:
Toner! Toner! Toner! ...hmm, what is a toner, you may be asking? Well, it's the best thing out there for your face! But, in actuality, it is a "unique spray containing natural organic surfactants which enable its enzymes, proteins and vitamins to penetrate through the skins natural surface tension. The enzyme proteins stimulate and moisturize when sprayed on untreated skin."

It is a dream come true for people with uneven skin or with pores that are a little larger than you would like. During Spa Week in Philadelphia (AKA: the best week of any woman's life!) I was exposed to this amazing product at The Belleuve Sports Club - Heidi is absolutely AMAZING! Today, I will not live without it, and I continue to spread the word about how amazing it really is!

Since there are many products out there, the best one, and the one I use, is the Epicuren Protein Enzyme Mist. I have been using it for about 3 weeks now, and love my results! My skin is more even and my pores are becoming invisible! I LOVE IT! Also, because of the misting action, it refreshes you throughout the day - you can sprit at anytime and anywhere!

How to use:
  • In the morning and right before bed time, wash your face as you normally would.
  • Towel dry.
  • Then, spray on! About 4 sprits starting from your forehead down to your chin.
  • Feel the sensation as the mist goes healthily into your pores. You are doing something amazing for your face!
  • Let the mist air-dry.
  • Then, apply moisturizer (only one baby portion onto your fingertips) - Epicuren Ultra Rose Treat Enzyme Moisturizer = AMAZING!
  • And, let everything set in as your face enjoys breathing! :)
Pricing?: The products can only be bought through a spa that sells Epicuren products. But, the pricing is not that bad, especially for how much you use, a very little bit, and how amazing the results are. The mist is about $22, while the moisturizer is about $40.

Sweatpants, hat, and no makeup = Sexy.

Quote of the Day:
Do I consider myself sexy? It all depends on the way I'm feeling. When I'm happy inside, that's when I feel most sexy. Anna Kournikova

Ness's Beauty Tip of the Day:
What is sexy? Is it when you take 5 hours to get ready? Is it when you work with putting the most perfect curls in your hair for 2 hours? Is it when you wear $500 jeans and a $200 Ed Hardy shirt? No. It is none of these.

You want to know what sexy really is? Well, I will tell you the secret. But shh, promise not to tell too many people!

Sexy is:
  • confidence
  • a relaxed look
  • a face filled with energy
  • simple sweat pants and a hoodie
  • and last but not least, a smile!

So, if one day, you don't have the time or the money - there is no need to worry! Just be yourself, flaunt your personality, and smile at everyone! :) Now, that's what Sexy is.

This picture basically describes Sexy. :)
Enjoy being sexy without the hassle!
Much love, xoxo, Ness. :)

The Secret to Longevity: Your Inner Child

Quote of the Day:
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." -Pablo Picasso

Ness's Beauty Tip of the Day:
Learn to laugh once everyday. Practice smiling at everyone you see. Consider projects your imagination's playtime. And, continue to search for your inner child:
  • the one that stayed up late because it was "cool"
  • the one that was not afraid to dance in the rain
  • the one that introduced him/herself to people he/she didn't know
  • the one that felt a sense of joy after baking cookies with his/her mother
  • the one that was excited to open up her special notebook and begin with "Dear Diary..."
I honestly believe that your inner child will prevent sickness, blemishes, and getting "old". So, please, never be afraid to roll up your Barbie shirt sleeves, put on your paint smock, and use your imagination while at work or through your studies.

News of the Day:
Today, I decided to look on craigslist.com, just because... And what I saw was pretty amazing - I saw many opening jobs for restaurants, for marketing related companies (that are not fake), etc. This was amazing to me because I know that this is evidence that the economy is changing... for the better. People who work in restaurants are putting in their 2-weeks notice, because something better - their passion - has come along. Businesses are looking for unique people to become a part of their company. Businesses are building and not falling - and it is exciting. So, my little advice to you: Go out there. In the world, on the web, anything. And look for that special passion of yours. You will find it. And you will be happy. That inner child will not have to be searched for, but rather, it will be with you everyday.

Xoxo, Ness :)

I'm singingg in the raiin!!

Quote of the Day:
“The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain.” -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Beauty Tip of the Day by Ness:
Get the BUBBLE UMBRELLA! I am telling you, this thing is amazing!

I am sure that you have all head about or have seen this lovely umbrella as you walked the streets with your flimsy umbrella turninng inside-and-out due to the large gusts of winds that accompany a storm. Well, you know what, you don't have to worry anymore about that flimsy umbrella that causes you to actually get more wet and more stressed out than you were when you woke up.
I have a little story for you... There was once this girl that hated the rain and the snow and the wind - mainly because her umbrella... was flimsy! Then, as she walked through the city, a new, improved, and PINK umbrella caught her eye - yes, this is the bubble umbrella! From that day on, she swore that she would buy one ASAP, but... she didn't. So, she continued to suffer in the rain, by wearing hats, or hoodies, and being drenched with rain throughout her day. She was not a happy camper. Then, one day, her mother bought her this lovely umbrella that she had been talking about for ages! And... she lived happily ever after. :) The End.
Now, the question is, where the heck can one find and buy this umbrella? Well, it's no that difficult after all, unless your lazy... like that cough cough, girl was in the story above. P.S. DON'T BE LAZY and DON'T WAIT TO GET THIS UMBRELLA. The answer is: google it, or simply find the nearest Target and buy one for just $21.99.
Bumping into someone on your walk to work because you can't see through your umbrella and then you break your leg: $800.
Getting your new highlited hair drenched right after you just got it done and creating ugly lines on your skin after your spray tan because your umbrella flipped inside-and-out: $500.
Buying the bubble umbrella, looking the sexiest with it's clear + color design, and walking into work completely dry: priceless. ;)
Now, don't wait! Buy that bubble umbrella today, before it's too late, Ms. Poppins! :)
xoxo Ness.

Humidity = WATER x10!

So, it is again a hot, humid, sticky day in Philadelphia. But no need to frown! I got some solutions for you!

Quote of the Day:
Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.

Nessa's Beauty Tip of the Day:
Water is a necessity! All the time, everyday, and especially in the summer! So, to make sure your skin, hair, nails, etc. continue to look beautiful, you must drink up! Yes, that means AT LEAST 8-10 glasses of water/day.

Personally, I love Fiji, but any water works! Just make sure you drink up. And, not to mention, drinking up tends to curb your appetite. :) Which is always a plus as well!

Event of the Day:
Center City Sips! 5-7pm. Go almost anywhere in the city and enjoy $2 beer, $3 wine, and $4 special cocktails! Check it out!

Events of the Week:
MUSIKFEST in Bethlehem, PA: Begins this Friday and lasts till next Sunday. Fun times, good music, delicious food, and exciting people!
**Not to forget about the Sands Casino that just opened in Downtown B-town as well! :) After the bands at Fest, head over and make a night of it at the casino!

Walking to my Internship in 92% Humidity...

It's pretty amazing what you see when you walk in the city at 8:30am...
-People in sneakers, but wearing dresses/skirts
-People parking their motorcycles, but in their suits
-People riding long bikes on the actual road with cars!
...yes, it is an interesting sight, and something that should not be missed!

Quote of the Day:

“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.”

Ness's Beauty Tip of the Day:
You know when you have to do that long walk to work, and the humidity total kills the hair that you worked at least 30 minutes on to look "okay"...? Well, do not fret! There is a special tip that will help you keep the hair from looking disastrous:
*Always pack a little comb + hair clip in your clutch/purse!*
...You will always be able to quickly head into the bathroom, wipe the sweat off of your forehead and nose, and comb or tease your hair. Then, twist your hair and use your clip to secure your hair back! No one will be able to tell you were sweating your butt off while walking to work! :)

City Lovin' for Friday:
Public House: Enjoy Build Your Own Martini Fridays! From 6-10pm, enjoy $5 martinis. If interested for a complimentary hour, please contact Me at vanessa.rottet@temple.edu! :)

The POOF!

Quote of the Day:
"Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between 2 deep breaths."

Nessa's Beauty Tip of the Day:
Don't you hate when you wake up late and have no time to wash your hair? Or how about when you don't want to bother with the hassle of washing, drying, and styling your hair? Well, don't fret because there's a solution to this! - The POOF!
1. Spray hairspray all over your hair*
2. Pick 1 inch sections from the top
of your head, and tease the hair with a comb (comb the hair down as you hold the section)
3. Spray the teased section with hairspray again
4. Brush back the huge hair, so it does not look all crazy
5. Use 2 bobby-pins to secure your crown POOF.
6. and, Enjoy!

*My favorite hairspray - Extra-body firm finish spray by Paul Mitchell - it works perfect all the time!

1. Floss
2. Gargle with Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse
3. and, Brush your teeth for at least a minute!
